Mission Statement

At Disabled Veteran Black Soldier Fly Farm, our mission is to strengthen our community through sustainable agriculture, waste reduction, and purpose-driven veteran leadership. Founded by Tomy, a U.S, veteran, and Kalani, a U.S. veteran, our farm transforms everyday organic waste into high-value insect protein that supports local reptile owners, farmers, and environmentally conscious consumers.

By raising black soldier fly larvae, we actively divert food scraps that would otherwise enter landfills—reducing methane emissions, promoting circular agriculture, and creating nutrient-rich fertilizer (frass) that enriches soil for growers and home gardeners. This sustainable process strengthens the local food system while lowering the environmental footprint of traditional feed production.

Our larvae provide a clean, calcium-rich, protein-dense, and highly digestible food source for reptiles and farm animals, helping pet owners, local breeders, educational programs, and agricultural operations maintain healthy animals without stressing wild insect populations.

Beyond animal feed, our frass fertilizer contributes to healthier crops, improved soil structure, and stronger farming operations across the region. This makes our farm a valuable community partner in agriculture, waste management, and eco-friendly food production.

As disabled U.S. veterans, Tomy and Kalani built this farm as a pathway to renewed purpose, mobility, and community service. Every product we produce reflects our belief that sustainability, responsibility, and resilience go hand-in-hand. Our commitment is to create a greener, stronger, and more connected future for our community, our environment, and our fellow veterans.
